NKK Opens New Production facility in China

To achieve "Quantum Leap 21", a midterm management plan that was launched in 2004 that includes a goal of increasing sales share in the North American market. NKK set the building of production facility in China as one of the most important agenda items.

After long term preparation, that goal has been achieved. The plant in China has been completed recently and is now full scale production.

On January 17, 2005, an opening ceremony was held with NKK personnel and a Dongguan government official attending this event. The new plant has a clean room which meets the highest standards and will accommodate 400 employees. A portion of NKK's switch series are now being produced in the new plant. By the end of the year 2006 the China production lines will be turning out 50% of NKK's total array of switches.
